The end of an era.

Last weekend I finished knitting something that I've been working on since waaaay before Christmas: Andrew's gansey is finally done. Between the kids being sick the first 3 weeks of December, and travel to Massachusetts for Christmas, then the kids being sickos again in January along with dyeing for Earthly Hues, I've had pretty limited knitting time. Now that it's mid-February I realize I've done very minimal blogging during that time period too. I'll be traveling this week to NH and MA and won't have a computer with me, so I won't be able to blog much until the end of the month. I do miss blogging when I'm not at it regularly. Earthly Hues is thinking of getting a laptop though, so all that could change in the next few months.

So, where are the photos? A friend took a photo, and that's all the proof I have. Can you believe I did not take a photo myself? All I can say is, when you have two kids to get ready and a sitter to pick up, you run out the door with husband-boy as soon as you have the chance. Besides, the screen on my camera got shattered. So, here's the photo (oh, he's wearing the kilt too). The sleeves are long--he's just got them scrunched up. The sweater is tucked in too, it's actually lots longer but a kilt is worn a little higher than he would normally wear pants, so you see less of the sweater than if he were wearing pants--and he wouldn't tuck the sweater into pants. He had to tuck it here, because if he didn't you wouldn't be able to see the belt & sporran. Of course, the hose are the ones I knit him last winter.

I'll be in NH this weekend, attending a weaving class at Harrisville Designs. Andrew arranged the class as my Christmas gift, and I've been dreaming about the trip since he presented me with the info & a weaving book on Christmas morning. I'll spend the week in MA with my parents, and then go back to Harrisville to finish the class the following weekend. I'm looking to replace my camera this week, so I'll be able to take some photos while I'm galavanting around New England. If the weather allows.
