A Contest! A Contest!

It'll be fun, but you have to act quickly!

Please jump on over to Earthly Hues' blog for the details, but here's a hint of things to be found there:

Pardon the interruption of a knitting (sometimes) blog...

Puppy cuteness to come:

My parents decided to adopt one of the dogs whose sire is my Aunt Karen's (Sunnyside Goldens) gorgeous golden retriever. Until they get here on Saturday, guess who gets to foster this princess? Me! I'm considering rolling up the LR rug, because she's not quite potty trained--you have to catch her sniffing and circling and carry her out QUICK!

Anyhow, you'd rather see pictures than see stories, right? Her name is Zeeva, which, I'm told, means "wolf" in Hebrew. She's seven weeks old. The boys love her, Zin puts up with her, and I'm doing as much laundry as I did when I had infants. She's such a little fuzzball of cuteness though, so I can do a little extra laundry for a couple weeks.

Post-Election StagNation

Besides reporting that I am indeed making progress on three Christmas sweaters (not Christmas-ish sweaters, but sweaters that will be Christmas gifts), I've got nothing knitterly to show for myself. Note to self: Take some knitterly photos why don't you!

ETA:
OK! OK! I did! It's amazing what nagging myself will accomplish.

Kevin's Super-Duper Green (which is what he requested) Gansey, Brown Sheep Top of the Lamb Worsted!

Andrew's (AKA Husband-Boy) is Black, and will go very well with the kilt (see below). That's Andrew's waistband there on top of Kevin's bottom half. I decided to work these sweaters concurrently, so odds are that instead of just one giant unfinished sweater at Christmas I'll have three unfinished sweaters in the same state of unfinished-ness. Today, the two smallish sweaters are both done up to the pattern change and Andrew's is just a waistband. Wish me luck! Maybe they'll all be finished on time!

Geoffrey's is this lovely burnt umber color. I'm using the Brown Sheep for all the sweaters. It gives great stitch definition.
